Clop Ransomware is a malware that encrypts your files and the encrypted key will be released until you pay ransom to the intruders. It has been one of the biggest and dangerous ransomware attack reported in 2020 normally targeting Windows users. It’s a variant of the well-known CryptoMix ransomware. In this attacking process, the malicious ransom start blocking over 600 windows processes and disable multiple window application including Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials before beginning its encryption process. Thus leaving zero chance for protecting the data before encryption. The inception of this attack not just target individual devices rather it targets the entire network. This attack has greater impact over various public sites and various university sites all over the globe. Post act of this ransomware leaks information if the owner of the data fails to pay the ransom. That is, this threat actor has stolen and encrypted the sensitive information of various organization and after failure of the payment, the stolen information is leaked over various dark web sites. The leaked information includes data backups, financial records, thousands of emails and vouchers etc.
